Achieve Your Dream Figure With Breast Augmentation

Breast size and shape are some of the most common bodily traits for women to be self-conscious about. For example, you may be unsatisfied with the natural size of your breasts or feel that they aren’t as symmetrical or proportionate as you’d like them to be. If you’d like to enhance the appearance of your breasts and attain a fuller physique, you could be a great fit for breast augmentation performed by Dr. Paymon Rahgozar.

What Is Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that involves the use of breast implants or fat transfer to enhance the size and shape of the breasts. Breast augmentation can be performed for a variety of reasons, including to improve the appearance of breasts that are naturally small or asymmetrical or to restore volume and shape lost due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss.

The procedure typically involves making incisions either under the breasts, around the nipples, or in the armpits, followed by the careful insertion and placement of customized breast implants.

Motiva Silicone vs. Saline Breast Implants

When considering breast augmentation, one of the decisions you will have to make is whether to choose Motiva silicone, standard silicone, or saline breast implants. Both types of implants have their pros and cons, and the decision ultimately depends on your personal preferences and goals.

Motiva Breast Implants

Unlike traditional options that hold a rigid shape, Motiva silicone breast implants shift with gravity. They form a teardrop shape when you stand and expand evenly when you lie flat. Their dynamic movement differs from the standard silicone implants (often called "gummy bear" implants), which hold a pre-set factory shape.

If a silicone implant ruptures, it may be more difficult to detect than a saline implant rupture and, therefore, requires closer monitoring over time. However, with Motiva breast implants feature a "SmoothSilk" nano-surface. This micro-texture lowers the risk of capsular contracture (painful scar tissue) and other placement complications compared to older textured variants.

Saline Breast Implants

Saline breast implants are filled with a sterile saltwater solution. They are typically chosen by women who want a more firm and round result, as the implants can be filled to the desired size during surgery. Saline implants also have the advantage of being easier to detect if they rupture, as the saline solution is absorbed by the body, and the implant visibly deflates.

One potential downside of saline implants is that they may not feel as natural as silicone implants, especially in women with less breast tissue. They are also more prone to rippling or wrinkling, which can be visible under the skin.

Am I a Good Candidate for Breast Augmentation?

You may be a good candidate for breast augmentation if you are healthy, have a stable weight, and feel that your breast size or shape no longer aligns with your goals. Ideal candidates value expert guidance, have realistic expectations, and want a plan built around their anatomy rather than a trend. If augmentation is not the right solution, your surgeon will explain why and help identify a more appropriate path forward.

How long do breast implants last?

How long does breast augmentation take?

On average, you can expect your breast augmentation procedure to take around one to two hours to complete.

    Is breast augmentation permanent?

Breast augmentation is designed to be a long-term solution for enhancing the size and shape of your breasts. However, it is important to note that breast implants are not considered lifetime devices. Implants may need to be replaced at some point in the future, typically after 10-15 years.

Will breast augmentation affect my ability to breastfeed?

Breast augmentation may affect breastfeeding, depending on the type of incision and placement of the implants. Many women are still able to breastfeed after the procedure, but it's important to discuss this with your surgeon if you plan to have children in the future.

What is fat transfer breast augmentation?

Fat transfer breast augmentation is an alternative breast augmentation technique that involves using your own fat to enhance the size and shape of your breasts. During the procedure, fat is harvested from one area of your body, such as your abdomen or thighs, and then injected into your breasts. This procedure is a good option for women who are looking for subtle, natural-looking enhancements to their breasts and want to avoid using implants.

Can breast augmentation be combined with other procedures?

Yes, breast augmentation is often combined with other procedures like a breast lift (mastopexy) to achieve the desired aesthetic outcome, especially for women who have experienced significant weight loss or post-pregnancy changes.

How long do breast implants last?

Breast implants are not lifetime devices and may need to be replaced after 10-20 years. Regular check-ups with your surgeon are recommended to monitor the condition of the implants.
